The Lutterworth East project should be completed by 2037, and a maximum of 2500 jobs could be produced from the scheme. Planning permission has been granted and the county council is going to invest £1 million in Lutterworth’s health centre.
Phil King, the leader of Harborough District Council, stated:
“It will create jobs locally, so people can work close to where they live, and it will deliver off-site improvements to sport and recreational facilities in the area.”

Councillor Byron Rhodes is positive about the ambitious vision because he recognises the demand for affordable housing. In addition, Rhodes thinks that a mixed community will develop on the site, as accommodation for families, first-time buyers and retirees will all be provided.
When it comes to the issue of sustainable development, Rhodes is clear. He is adamant that the proposals reflect the values of the county council. Local low-carbon living is important in terms of addressing climate change.
