A Lutterworth-based group that makes patchwork and quilts is in the process of planning meetings in Walcote’s Memorial Hall following the success of its anniversary event.
Lutterworth Piecemakers are set to meet on November 20th and January 22nd and poster printing can be used to advertise events such as this.
The biannual show was held earlier in the month, and marked the anniversary of the group. Approximately 300 people visited the village hall in Walcote over the course of the final weekend in September to view a wide range of bright objects, including cushions, Bags, wall hangings and quilts. Refreshments were served to the visitors.
However, the anniversary was not just a grand occasion for the Lutterworth Piecemakers. Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Loughborough gained from a raffle and a tombola. Meanwhile, one room in the village hall was allocated to a trader.
An important guest was present at the anniversary show. Tony Hirons, the current mayor for Lutterworth, met up with members of the organisation. Vicki Furminger and Lynda Hill seized the opportunity to welcome him to the colourful exhibition.
One of the aims of the society has been to teach the skills which are valued by its members. Techniques such as appliqué, patchwork, quilting and embroidery have been shared. Individuals have engaged in demonstrations to attract the interest of the public.Get a Free Quote for Bags
