The owners of a shop fitting firm in Lutterworth are set to participate in the annual charity event called Help for Heroes Signature Big Battlefield Bike Ride this summer, after receiving a major sponsorship boost.
Neil Bevan and Tracey Johnson, who jointly run RTS Contracts Ltd, which is located within the St Johns Business Park in the town, will now both be putting in intensive amounts of training ahead of the ride at the beginning of June.
Their efforts are being sponsored to the tune of £1,000 by Travis Perkins, which also serves as one of RTS Contracts’ regular suppliers.
The firm will cycle approximately 350 miles between Brussels and London throughout the week-long event. In addition to their current sponsor, Bevan and Johnson will also be able to call on Lutterworth Print shops to provide any poster printing needed to promote the event and raise further financial backing.
The Big Battlefield Bike Ride starts on 1st June in the Belgian capital, and takes in Paris before concluding in London on the 8th. This is the seventh year that the challenge has taken place, but the journey this time takes in a large section of what was the Western Front, in honour of the First World War Centenary. The 2013 ride drew around 1,300 cyclists, and the emotional nature of this year’s event could see even more people choosing to take part.Get a Free Quote for Print
