The Department for Education has given the green light to the Plans, and the school will be open to children aged 11 starting in August 2015.
The school recently announced that the results achieved by pupils during 2013 have ensured that Lutterworth College is one of the educational establishments in the upper 15 per cent in the UK. This is according to the ‘Progress 8’ scheme devised by the Government, and means there is likely to be considerable demand amongst parents for places.
It will also be able to make use of the brochure printers in Lutterworth to show off its facilities and an open night was held for parents on 18th June, where they were able to learn more about all the school can offer them.
Andrew Cooper, the executive principal, told the Harborough Mail:
“Parents have been ringing me up for weeks asking if we had got approval to accept 11-year-olds. Now we can put all our exciting plans into action.”
He added that discussions with parents had indicated many were already on board with the plans. Several other schools in the area are also keen to accept 11-year-olds, but Lutterworth College now looks set to be the first to do so.Get a Free Quote for Plans
