Harborough District Council is spending more than £20,000 on a range of wellbeing projects. Lutterworth shall benefit from two of the initiatives in question. Printing services can attract more business when a locality receives investment, particularly when the resources are targeted at a dynamic sector.
The district council’s lead on wellbeing and communities is Simon Whelband. Councillor Whelband told InYourArea:
“I am delighted that we have once again been able to allocate a significant amount of money to some really positive local projects. This will allow many groups to continue to provide opportunities for residents in these challenging times.”
With the money being drawn from the Community Grant Fund, the council wanted to give a lift to young people. It also aimed to enhance the environment.
Almost £4000 has been given to provide equipment for a recreation ground in Lutterworth Town Estates. The hope is that children shall enjoy exercising using gym style items.
Approximately £850 has been donated to Lutterworth Robins Netball Group. This money shall facilitate outdoor training by supplying the team with floodlights. This move might help to enable COVID-secure activity during the pandemic.
It appears that a further funding round is coming up. A diversity of Lutterworth community groups will have the opportunity to make submissions for grants.
