The Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom campaign runs every year and residents in Leicestershire are always keen to get involved with making their town look as pretty as possible. This year, Harborough is up for a national award and so needs all the support it can muster. Banner printing in Lutterworth and Harborough is often used to drum up support, alongside well-tended plants, flowerbeds and horticultural displays to encourage folk throughout the region to make the area look as presentable as possible.
The Harborough in Bloom volunteers group is appealing for help from people throughout Harborough to make the town look its best. Chris Etherington is from the group, and recently spoke to the Harborough Mail about the need for the support of the community as part of this bid. Chris said:
“We’re in need of volunteers. We could do with more people to help us plant as we get closer to the summer. It really doesn’t matter how much or how little time people can give – we’re very appreciative of anything people can offer. We’re really excited about this and it’s a wonderful opportunity for the town to gain a higher profile.”
