Local opinion has been divided about planned changes to bus services in Lutterworth and Harborough. A meeting was held recently to discuss proposed revisions to the way the 44 bus operates. This bus service is considered to be extremely important to people living in the area who have no other means of transportation. However, local residents expressed their disappointment when no one from the local council was able to attend the meeting.
Leicestershire County Council sent its apologies for their lack of representation at the meeting, with a spokesperson saying:
“We had hoped to send a representative to the meeting but unfortunately this was not possible. However, we would like to reassure people that we will look very carefully through the minutes and ensure that views expressed are taken into account as we consider our response to the consultation.”
Residents were still able to voice their concerns and those who still had questions, or were unable to attend the meeting, were able to stay informed of the changes thanks to a leaflet that explains the Plans.
