Harborough District Council is the owner of the land in question, which should be able to accommodate 72 residences. Brochure printing may be helpful in the property sector, particularly where housing is considered.
Once used for allotments, the site is close to Coventry Road and Cunningham Drive. The council wants to sell the space to housebuilders. Plans have already been made to construct an access road to service residences, but planning permission has yet to be fully granted.
Chartered surveyor Fisher German is offering the site to potential buyers, and its website says:
“The site comprises a single enclosure of 5.31 acres being former allotments previously accessed off De Verdon Road. The site is essentially level and currently comprises of [sic] rough grass, with a few bushes and leylandii trees.”
Although the planning committee of Harborough District Council approved the scheme in October 2020, the purchaser of the land will still have plenty to do. This is because a Section 106 agreement is involved, meaning certain obligations have to be met by a developer
In this case, the new development would have to include 29 affordable properties. In addition, any buyer of the site would have to make significant financial contributions to the provision of health and education. A further payment of £60,000 would go towards other facilities for the local community.
