IDI Galaxy has announced plans for a 200-hectare expansion of the facility, using land situated north of the existing park, so that it can construct additional warehousing for the logistics operators based there.
In addition to this, the expansion plans would also encompass a number of community facilities, including a park for them and an academy created to teach youngsters aged between 14 and 19 about the skills required to work in logistics.
The chairman of the Rugby branch of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Jim Griffin, told the Rugby Observer:
“The expansion will bring major benefits to the region’s economy and is a further example of just how sought-after our location is – at the heart of the UK’s road network.
“This will bring additional jobs and investment to the area at a time when Rugby and the surrounding borough is growing significantly.”
