Wycliffe Out of School Club accepts children ranging from primary school age to just eight weeks old, and it is located in Rugby Road, Lutterworth. Now, some of its children are working hard to build a garden in the grounds of Woodmarket House Residential Care Home, learning about all of the different aspects of gardening and making friends with the elderly residents.
Speaking to In Your Area, a representative of the club, Claire Potterton, said that Wycliffe was always keen to reach out to other parts of the community where it could and that, before the pandemic, the children had regularly visited the care home.

The community garden project involves the children and Woodmarket residents collaborating on planting vegetables and flowers, with the youngsters doing the work of preparing the soil.
Potterton went on to say that:
“We are also hoping to create a small area for the residents to watch their grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and have somewhere nice to sit and enjoy the wonderful outdoors!”
The club representative concluded by saying that they were seeking donations from local firms.
