The team of voluntary workers at a community-based computer and information technology workshop in Lutterworth were awarded the certificates as part of an awards evening that was held in November. The workshop, named the Community Computer Centre, or C3 for short, is part of the Lutterworth One Stop Shop volunteer hub and it offers free access to computing facilities for local people.
Dee Stephens spoke on behalf of the Community Computing Centre, saying:
“This year is very important more than others as our future is uncertain. We have been lucky to be receiving funding from Lutterworth College – however this will cease from December 31. We do have funding Plans but we will not hear outcomes of these until February next year. We thank everybody who has been involved in the project and we will be keeping people posted about our future plans when we know more.”
Certificates are often distributed as a way of thanking or rewarding volunteers and can be professionally created using printing companies that offer services like full colour printing. The Lutterworth volunteers were treated to a special quiz night after receiving their certificates.
