This event is being organised by Harborough Twenty 12 Lions Club and is being called the Midsummer Dream Walk. The location for it will be Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, a runway that dates back to the Cold War era and is situated just outside Lutterworth. It is owned by Manheim Vehicle Services, but the company has given the charity permission to use it for the day.
Walks of a number of different lengths will be included as part of the event, ranging from a 400-metre walk targeted at people who want to take part but cannot walk long distances to 1.7 and 3.5-mile treks. Banner printing outlets in Lutterworth can help those who are attending charity walks as spectators to show support for the participants.
A spokesperson for Harborough Twenty 12 Lions Club told the Harborough Mail that:
βItβs a chance for people to fundraise for the charity of their choice and visit a fascinating site, which is not normally open to the public. The walk will take place along the former Cold War aircraft runway β and there will be views of various planes.β
The Midsummer Dream Walk will be held on 18th June.
