Business park near Lutterworth could be expanded

A business park on the outskirts of Lutterworth that houses logistics and distribution companies could be set for expansion, if Harborough District Council gives the nod to the Plans.

These proposals would see a service station, car park and petrol station for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) added to Magna Park, Lutterworth. The developers are arguing that the new facilities are vital for the long term future of the park, because of the number of HGVs that make regular use of it to pick up items for delivery.

At the moment, there is still no final design for the expansion, but the documents that have been submitted to the council feature two separate possibilities for its lay-out. A location has been selected though, with the idea being to build the new facilities to the west of the main park, alongside Mere Lane, where there is a section of land lying empty.

Lutterworth is fortunate to already have local services designed to support companies based within business parks like this one, such as outlets that provide high quality business card printing.

Both suggested designs for the expansion would see a new junction created at Mere Lane, to enable access to it. The HGVs would get to it from Argosy Way.

Harborough Council is expected to announce its decision about the expansion of the park early next year.
