Art week brightens up Lutterworth

An art week was held in Lutterworth on the week beginning 13th August in an attempt to brighten up the region and to showcase the artistic side of the people living in the town.

The art week featured a range of work from local art groups, from photography to painting. The festival is put together through work from a trio of local art organisations - namely the Lutterworth Photographic Society, the Friday Painting Folk, and the Lutterworth Embroiderers' Guild. The Frolesworth Creative Art Group also contributed some of its paintings to the exhibitions being held as part of the festival.

Over a hundred paintings were on display at the art festival this month, which was held at various churches and community halls around the region, including the United Reformed Church.

One of the organisers, Lynne Wood, commented on the art week, saying that visitors appreciated the quality and diversity of the work. She also encouraged people to chat to the artists themselves at the exhibitions, bringing a sense of community to the event.
