London city festival to return this year
An annual culture festival that takes place not far from Aldgate is set to return later this year, and a stellar line-up of musicians will be taking to the stage over the course of it.
The City of London Festival used to be a fixture in the city, but has not been held for nearly a decade. Now it is scheduled to return this autumn, although it has been renamed the City Festival of Music, Invention and Knowledge. The aim of the event has always been to honour the environment and architectural surroundings of the City of London, which is the oldest part of the capital.
One of the bases for the 2024 festival will be Milton Court, not that far from Aldgate. This will be the venue for a concert by cellist Alberto Casadei and pianist Elisa Tomellini, who will perform music ranging from classical to pop.
Promotional products that are designed with an appropriate theme and created by shops in Aldgate are one of the choices available to the organisers of local events, when they need to advertise.
The opening act for this year’s festival will be jazz piano player Julian Joseph. The festival’s Artistic Director, Ian Ritchie, stated that its absence for the past nine years had created a gap.
The City Festival of Music, Invention and Knowledge will start on 10th October.
