A charity and a gas distribution network have announced that they are joining forces to launch a new project, which will help residents of the City of London make their money go further.
This project will see the charity called Family Action work alongside the gas network Cadent. It represents an expansion of the role that is currently performed by the Food on our Doorstep stores and clubs set up by the former. They provide people with nutritious food at a cost they can afford, but the new project will also teach the same people about the Priority Services Register, energy efficiency and maximising their incomes.
The project is being rolled out to people living in two parts of the capital, one of which lies within the City of London. The first is Tower Hamlets, while the second is Aldgate.
Advisors who are fully trained in the relevant subjects will be available to people in those areas. They will offer support and guidance, while some Food on our Doorstep members will also qualify for free CO (carbon monoxide) alarms and slow cookers.
Flyer printing by shops in the City of London can help organisations when they want to get the word out about projects like this.
Other aspects of this particular project will include workshops that are designed to help people learn about making their money go further.
