Cultural celebration to run in Ilford

A sports club based in Ilford is holding an afternoon-into-evening event dedicated to Creole culture in the autumn.

Residents of Ilford can join in the festivities for the 2026 edition of Jounen Kweyol. The vibrant celebration that highlights the French African Creole culture of Saint Lucia is welcoming all to attend the day, which will include authentic food, traditional dress, live performances and entertainment designed especially for children.

Those coming down on the day can expect a lively atmosphere and a showcase of the best in St. Lucian Creole culture. Highlights include captivating storytelling and skilful dance displays, along with Creole dishes that will take festivalgoer’s tastebuds on a voyage to the Caribbean.

Specialist vendors selling traditional food like creole cuisine at cultural events sometimes call on professional Print shops that can create branded disposable Menus for their customers to pick dishes from.

Jounen Kweyol 2026 will now take place at Ilford Sports Club on Saturday, October 24. The club can be found located at 3 Cricklefield Place in Ilford, and the festivities will get rolling from 12 pm. Admission to the day is charged at £6.13 per person, with children under 16 years old receiving free entry.

The first three hours of the event will include a special children’s edition of Jounen Kweyol, so they can enjoy their own celebration.
