A shop in Dagenham that sold fishing tackle and that shut down at the end of last year could be about to get new owners.
Robertson’s Fishing Tackle had been in business for close to nine decades when it closed last December. For much of that time, the shop was based in Plaistow, but it relocated to Dagenham in 2002. Since then, it has been situated on Oxlow Lane in the town, but the owner was forced to call time on it in 2025. The shop has been for sale for months, but is now listed as ‘under offer’ on the Rightmove website and ‘sale pending’ on LoopNet.
It is not clear exactly who has put in a bid, let alone whether it will continue to sell fishing tackle. However, the widespread expectation is that whoever is taking it over will have brand new Plans for the space.

Robertson’s Fishing Tackle began to experience problems after the car park on Wantz Road was closed by Barking and Dagenham Council. This facility had been used by people who were visiting the shop.
