Eastbrook Studios is the largest facility of its kind in the London area and now it could have a major new client. A company called LBBD Film has approached Barking & Dagenham Council about using the car park alongside the complex as a backlot site. This means it would be utilised for the filming of exterior scenes, if the council gives the necessary planning permission.
Although the car park appears to lie within the studio bounds, it is actually owned by the council and is called May & Baker Way Car Park. The local authority has indicated that it is happy for it to be used for filming, but has not yet agreed to the Plans for a temporary backlot to be constructed there.
Local councils sometimes make use of Stationery printers based in the same area for the administration Forms they need. Dagenham is home to outlets of that kind.
According to the Asian Standard, Barking & Dagenham Council issued a planning statement that says:
“The site would operate as a ‘backlot’, which is synonymous with all major studios. Backlot space provides an exterior area for hosting outdoor scenes and temporary set construction.”
This temporary set-up would remain in place at the car park until early July.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Forms Get a Free Quote for Plans
