Dagenham venue to host film festival screening

A major film festival is returning to East London in the upcoming weeks, and a venue in Dagenham will be among the ones that hosts screenings.

The PictureEast Film Festival is an event that had its debut last year and it proved to be a real success. Now, it is being brought back for 2026, organised once again by The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC). It is scheduled to run for two weeks and will feature screenings of both international and local films, with the emphasis on East London and global marginalised voices.

One of the venues where screenings are set to be held is the Vue Cinema Dagenham, which is located within the Dagenham Leisure Park on East Thames Plaza. No details of precisely which films in the festival programme will be shown there have yet been revealed.

When local venues are hosting special events, it is important to advertise them. Promotional Products that are created by Dagenham Print shops are one way of doing that. These can be produced cheaply and given away to people.

The TNBFC CEO is Priscilla Igwe. She told ATV Today that:
“This year’s full line-up reflects our commitment to showcasing local talent, global perspectives and underrepresented voices, while creating spaces for creatives to connect, shine and thrive.”

The PictureEast Film Festival 2026 is due to run until 1 February and tickets are free.
