Plans revealed for factory site in Coventry

The site of a former factory in Coventry could be set for a new lease of life, with Plans for it having now been unveiled to the general public.

This site is the one that used to be occupied by the Sandvik factory, on Torrington Avenue. That plant closed its doors two years ago and the site is now owned by Lawton Tubes. This local company that makes copper piping has its main base on the opposite side of the road, and it wants to use the Sandvik site as part of expansion Plans.

Lawton Tubes has submitted a planning application to the council, seeking permission to put up a number of new buildings at the site. It wants to build a warehouse there, as well as offices, an electricity substation, a pump house and a couple of sprinkler tanks.

The Plans would also see the creation of additional parking space and a service yard. The ambitious nature of the Plans is a mark of how successful the company has been.

Coventry is home to services that can be useful to thriving local firms, such as shops that offer Corporate Gifts. These can be used to help woo potential clients and raise brand awareness.

If the Plans are given the go ahead, two office blocks would be constructed, each with two storeys.

A date for the decision is not yet known.
