Iconic band return to Coventry Cathedral

A German electronic band will be playing the Cathedral in Coventry for the first time since back in 1975.

Coventry is set to extend a warm welcome to Tangerine Dream as they stop by the city for a live performance on their 2022 tour. The spring gig will see the band play their uncompromising but captivating brand of synthesiser and sequencer-based music accompanied by a dramatic visual and light show in Coventry’s celebrated cathedral.

Regarded as one of the pioneers of electronica, the was band formed in 1967 by Edgar Froese. While Froese passed away in 2015, the band from Germany have continued to tour and release recordings.

Tangerine Dream’s work through the Ohr recording label produced many influential albums that helped develop the “kosmische” music scene in Germany. From local bands to acclaimed recording artists, those working in the music industry often employ professional graphic designs services to create and set artwork for their album covers.

Fans of electronic music attending the concert in Coventry will get a chance to hear critically acclaimed tracks from Tangerine Dream such as “Love on a Real Train”, “Betrayal”, “We Were Set Up”, “North Yankton Memories”, and “Invisible Limits”.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary for the original concert booking to be rescheduled. Tangerine Dream will now play Coventry Cathedral on Priory Street in Coventry on Friday, March 11. The show will begin at 7:00 pm and end at 11:00 pm.
