Folk sounds coming to Coventry

An acclaimed folk-rock group will be playing in Coventry this summer.

Brighton band Levellers will be appearing on stage in Coventry this August to mark a special occasion. The upcoming show is part of the folk-rock groups celebrations honouring the 30th anniversary of their best-selling album called “Levelling the Land”. The seminal recording was critically acclaimed and redefined the landscape of British music in the early 90s.

Bands and record labels often look to experts in graphic design to set typography, artwork and imagery for album covers, ensuring they are Print-ready. In 2020, Leveller released a brand-new album in the studio called “Peace”. The recording entered the UK’s Official album chart, straight in at number eight.

The band is led by Mark Chadwick in vocals, banjo, guitar, and harmonica and feature numerous musicians playing a wide range of instruments including the tin whistle, bass, drums, fiddle, mandolin, violin, digeridoo, and the bouzouki, among others.

Fans of the band coming to the Coventry concert will get a chance to hear a whole host of Levellers classic tracks which may include “Far from Home”, “Battle of the Beanfield”, “Another man’s Cause”, “What a Beautiful Day”, “One Way” and “The Road” to name but a few.

Levellers will now play the Empire located at 22 Hertford Street in Coventry on Friday, August 5.
