Polling was conducted by UNiDAYS, which is a major Student Affinity Network. The spending habits of 3,000 students were assessed by the research. The work found that Leicester was the cheapest place to buy specific items on a regular basis, with Coventry prices for the basket of goods ranking at fifth best. Marketing services in Coventry may be used by organisations that wish to highlight positive aspects of town life.
Alex Gallagher, a marketing executive at UNiDAYS, said:
“At UNiDAYS we know finding savings on these modern-day essentials is important to students, and our mix of partners will help them do that and make their money go further in the upcoming term and throughout their student life.”
The research indicated that London student life was more costly than anywhere else in the UK. For students, tuition fees are just part of what makes university life expensive. Rents can be a burden, while the wider student experience can come with a hefty price tag. For example, the cost of food items like pizza, curry and coffee does vary significantly on a regional basis.
According to the study, in Coventry, a glass of wine costs around £3, which is as much as half the typical London price.
