Social housing development completed in Clapham
A brand new housing development in Clapham has now been completed, and it will provide residents of the borough with urgently needed social rent housing.
This project was developed as a partnership between Places for London and Lambeth Council. It is located within Clapham North and consists of two separate buildings. Both of them feature flats of varying sizes, with three-, two- and one-bedroom accommodation available. The rents for all of them will be kept at social level, ensuring the project adds to the amount of affordable housing in the area.
The total number of flats included in the development is 46, which means 150 people can be housed there. Clapham has a lengthy waiting list for social housing, so news of this completion will be welcome for residents.

In addition to meeting the housing need, this development also brought other benefits to the area. It provided employment for 16 local people during the construction and skills opportunities for a further 21.
