What's Happening in London - Clapham, England…

New Indian restaurant to come to Clapham

Residents of Clapham will have a brand new eatery to try out from next month, with the confirmation that a popular Indian restaurant is opening a branch in the area.

The Tamil Prince has become one of the most successful restaurants offering Indian cuisine in the capital. Up until now though, it has been restricted to North London.

This makes the news that it is moving into the southern half of the city exciting for food fans, and there is plenty to look forward to from the Clapham venue. It will be a full restaurant, rather than the ‘Indian pub’ format that the owners have deployed before.

The actual cuisine will still be indebted to that of South India, which means it will offer predominantly curry and roti-based dishes - although people are being told to expect some surprises, too. They will include meals that are cooked using a tandoor, which will guarantee authentic Indian tastes.

When new restaurants are preparing to launch within the borough, they sometimes turn to Clapham shops that supply themed promotional products. These can be given away as a cost-effective form of advertising.

The co-founder of The Tamil Prince is Prince Durairaj, and he also works as its executive chef. This means he will be responsible for overseeing the menu at the new Clapham restaurant.

It is due to open on 1st October.
