New gym for boxers opens near Clapham
A new gym that is aimed at those who box at professional or amateur level has been opened in South London, not far from Clapham.
The man behind this facility is Samm Mullins, who used to be the head coach at the Lynn Boxing Club, where he enjoyed real success. During his time in that role, the club developed 15 fighters who went on to become champions at national level and he will be hoping that his own gym achieves a similar degree of success.
Mullins opted to leave Lynn when the club decided to sign with Nemesis ABC instead of staying with England Boxing. He is calling his club Churchill’s and already has Ellie Scotney on board, who he trained to become female national champion.
Speaking to the South London Press and Mercury, Mullins went on to say that he also has a number of other boxers committed to the club, all of whom are ranked between number four and number one, before adding:
