Clapham to host Oktoberfest event
Bavarian fun and beer drinking will be coming to Clapham next month, with the news that the popular Oktoberfest event is set to return to the borough.
Oktoberfest on the Common will see thousands of people gather on Clapham Common to get their fill of sausage and beer. This will be the third year in a row that the borough has played host to the event, and the previous two were outstanding successes. Around 10,000 travelled to gather beneath the big tent, so that they could sample a range of authentic Bavarian cuisine and beverages, and the organisers will hope for another hit this year.
They have already announced that there will be a huge variety of foods on offer, including vegan bratwurst, sauerkraut, Krakauer smoky bacon sausage and frikadellen pork burgers. Some of the finest caterers in the country will be preparing the food for the festival.
It is not just about eating and drinking though, as activities and entertainment are also being planned. There will be a stage for live music performances, a funfair and games that the whole family can play together.
