Clapham to host classic movie marathon
Clapham is set to play host to a marathon screening of a classic Christmas movie next month, which will make for the ideal start to the season for locals.
The Richard Curtis film ‘Love Actually’ has become a staple of the festive season since it was first released two decades ago. It boasts a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Martin Freeman and Bill Nighy. Now, fans of the film who live in Clapham will be able to enjoy a special event dedicated to it.
The venue for this will be The Clapham Grand and it is due to last for 12 hours. That might sound a little strange, given that the movie itself only runs for two hours – but the organisers have other activities in store for attendees.
There will be two showings of the film on a giant screen, with the remainder of the time taken up by activities themed around it. These are set to include balloon drops, dance-offs and various competitions with prizes. There will also be a brunch that consists of Christmas food.
Banner printing from Clapham shops is just one of the ways in which local venues can promote upcoming events, if they want to make sure they get a good crowd attending.
This event is scheduled to take place on 14 December, starting from 1pm.
