Clapham to get new restaurant

A new restaurant, called Minnow, will be opening in Clapham next month.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Chris Frichot, whose parents used to run Scotland’s Knockinaam Lodge. Frichot will be assisted by his fiancée, Saba Tsegaye. The couple have recruited Jake Boyce, who was head chef at Social Wine and Tapas, to manage the kitchen.

Frichot was brought up in Scotland, spending his childhood within Knockinaam Lodge, and has considerable experience in the catering industry. Hoi Polloi, Hawksmoor and Caravan are among the places where he has previously worked.

His fiancée, who will help in the running of the restaurant, told The Caterer that they had opted for the name Minnow to reflect the status of the restaurant as a small fish within a big industry pond, adding:

“We have been working very hard alongside Jake to make sure we’ll be bringing something different and delicious to the neighbourhood, which is what we’re most excited about, living just around the corner ourselves.”

Minnow will offer customers a modern twist on traditional European cuisine and will design its menu based on the British seasons.

The restaurant will be opening in July, and new eateries such as this one can always take advantage of printers that provide leaflets, custom drinkware and other items to help when it comes to promoting themselves in the area.
