Clapham to get new restaurant
Clapham is all set to get a brand new bar and restaurant, with Balans Soho Society having confirmed that it will be celebrating the 30-year anniversary of its launch by opening an outlet in the area.
The group officially secured its chosen site, located close to Clapham Common and the former home of Honky Tonk, during January. The new restaurant will open its doors next month and will be the first one that the group has ever launched in south London.
Overall, it will mark Balans Soho Society’s seventh restaurant in the UK, having started out as a Soho-based sandwich shop back in the late 1980s. David Taylor, its co-founder, told a reporter from BigHospitality that the design would use the Soho venue as a template, adding that:
The interiors for the restaurant are being created by Simon Costin, a designer whose previous clients include Faberge, Hermes and Alexander McQueen. It is scheduled to open during March.
New restaurants launching in the area can always rely on places offering laminating services for their menus.

“We’re going to serve brunch and dinner and have got a 2am license on Friday and Saturday. Because it’s quite a big site we’ve put in a fireplace and a sofa so it’s a place you can go and have a drink as well as sitting down to eat.”
