What's Happening in London - Clapham, England…

Clapham to get new pizzeria

A new pizza restaurant is set to open its doors in the Clapham area.

Known as Pi, this pizzeria brand already has one outlet in Winchester, where it has proven to be a real hit with locals. It was started three years ago by Rosie Whaley, after she spent time working in an Italian pizzeria while on holiday and found the experience so enjoyable that she wanted to launch her own back in the UK.

The chosen location for the Clapham branch is Battersea Rise. Chefs from Italy are responsible for the secret recipe used to create the dough for the pizzas, which undergoes fermentation for up to 72 hours.

If this is not enough to get pizza lovers’ mouths watering, the fact that the high grade vegetables, meats and cheeses come direct from Italy should definitely do so. Speaking to Feast Magazine about the launch, Whaley stated that:
“It’s been three whirlwind years since we brought Pi to Winchester and I’m so excited to be opening a second site. Londoners have an insatiable passion for pizza and I hope we can bring a slice of something special to the table.”

The restaurant will open its doors to customers for the first time later this month. Many new businesses chose to use local printers to provide promotional products to spread the word to the local community.
