Cambridge office block could be revamped
An office block in the heart of Cambridge could be set to undergo a radical makeover, with the news that plans for this have been submitted to the local council.
The block in question is situated in Station Road and is called Kett House. It was constructed a number of decades ago and has been described as having an increasingly out of date and shabby appearance. Now a developer has put forward plans to renovate it. The company that is behind the plans is the property developer Stanhope, which has provided the country with many of its most famous buildings.
According to Cambridgeshire Live, a spokesperson for Stanhope said that:
The district known as CB1 is close to Cambridge Station and is a mixed-use development containing both commercial and residential properties. Kett House is located within it.
When companies move into local office blocks like this one, they often need other business services. That can include shops in Cambridge that offer corporate gifts, for wooing clients with.
At this point, Stanhope is sharing its ideas for Kett House with the public during an initial consultation. The hope is that a decision can be reached by autumn.

“Our proposals are at an early stage, but we believe Kett House has considerable potential to contribute to the vibrancy of the CB1 district, support the wider community and renew a prominent site.”
