Folk singer to perform show in Cambridge
A folk singer who is also known for her biting topical wit will be coming to Cambridge next month, as she tours the country with her latest show.
Grace Petrie made her name on the back of folk songs that are filled with political anger and acid humour. Now, with her latest live show, she has opted to try something different. It has been given the name ‘This Is No Time To Panic’ and will see her blend together music, stand-up comedy and storytelling. She has also indicated that it will take a more escapist angle than her earlier shows.
She has described it as something that will make the audience feel good and that will let them forget about their problems for a couple of hours. The venue for her performance in the city is set to be Cambridge Junction.
When they need to advertise their upcoming shows, local venues often look to poster printing by Cambridge shops. Promotional posters can be put up all over the city.
Petrie certainly has an enthusiastic fan base, as her previous show was a sell-out success. It was called ‘Butch Ado About Nothing’ and launched her as a live performer.
She has since played at top music festivals, including Latitude and Glastonbury, as well as appearing on BBC Radio and scoring a hit album.
Petrie plays Cambridge on 10 October.
