Students actually do like to Bath

An annual survey has found that students in Bath enjoy their university experience more than most other students in the UK.

According to the results of the 2014 Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey, students here are the second most satisfied in the country.

The survey asks students to rate their uni life over 21 elements. As well as asking about educational quality of their courses, it also asks about accommodation and socialising.

Over 14,000 students took part in this year's survey, which saw the University of Bath move four places from sixth to second spot. The university also appeared in first place for seven of the ranking categories.

With the establishment’s brochure printers likely to lead with such claims about the facilities and business connections the students voted Bath top for, Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell, the university's vice-chancellor, said:

"This is excellent news. Here at Bath we pride ourselves on giving our students the best possible academic experience and paving the way for them to succeed.

“To be ranked first in such a large number of the categories and second overall reflects the dedication of all our staff here at Bath.”

Recognising the efforts that universities are putting into attracting the best talent, the editor of the Times’ supplement for higher education, John Gill, explained that getting the whole student experience right was fundamental on a local, national and international level.
