A number of people in Bath have reported sightings of strange creatures in the city's Southgate area, only to find out they’re actually cardboard cut-outs being used to promote a music festival which is currently taking place in the area.
The theme for this year's Bath Music Festival is monsters and a series of events are taking place all over the city to entertain revellers.
The cut-out cardboard monsters have simply been used to raise awareness amongst the area’s music lovers. The deceiving figures have been produced using full colour printing. Bath shoppers have been having photos taken with the monsters and sharing them across social networks, raising the profile of the festival.
The event is also being promoted with Posters and leaflets which have been produced by local printing companies.
Bath Music Festival is running until June 2nd and features a monster parade which takes place as part of Party in the City, an event which sees school pupils, musicians and university students parading through Bath, making music and dressing up as monsters.
The Party in the City line-up features a range of local artists, including folk-rock group Charming and pop-jazz twosome Tracey and Jason, who are currently being championed by BBC Radio’s Mark Radcliffe.
The festival itself features classical music performances from Bath Philharmonia and a string quartet from Denmark. The grand finale will also feature a fireworks display, which will take place at 10:00pm on the last day.
More information on Bath Music Festival and details of the full line up can be found on the official Bath Festivals website.
