Hundreds of men turned out at a recent weekend walking event in the city, as the second Bath Men's Walk took to streets.
With the walking contingent doubled in numbers from 2013's effort, it is thought that the banner printing marking the event bore witness to over 450 men and kids taking part. With the charity event attracting twice as many participants than the inaugural event, it is hoped that up to £40,000 could eventually be raised.
Starting at nearby Winsley and ending up at the Rec in Bath city centre, the eight mile walking event is the brainchild of the Bath Rugby Foundation. Raising vital cash for the Dorothy House Hospice Care, local weather presented Bob Crampton started this year's affairs.
Walkers were also urged on by local Bath Rugby Club stars, David Trick, Ben Williams, Dave Wilson and Micky Young.
Most of the people taking part managed to complete the course in about two hours. However, it is likely that a few stragglers were waylaid by a drink at The George pub.
Most would have made it home in time for the rugby, with the England versus France Six Nations clash the goal for most people on the walk.
However, after yet another disappointing performance for England's sporting prowess this winter, focusing on the money raised for charity may well have been better.
