Historic park to host vintage funfair

A summer steam fair will be held next month in a Bath park that was originally opened by Queen Victoria.

Attendees can enjoy all the fun of the fair in the verdant surrounds of Royal Victoria Park in Bath as Carters brings a selection of steam-powered rides to the Somerset city. Steam Gallopers, Chair O Plane and Whirl A Round Twist will all be on site with fair favourites dodgems and the ghost train, along with a chance to pick up snacks and gifts to take home.

On top of the long list of rides to try, guests can also enjoy an illuminating tour of the fair guided by owner Joby Carter, an authority of the art and history of fairgrounds over the decades.

Promoters of events held in local green spaces can sometimes use banner printing services to create colourful advertisements to decorate the area and welcome members of the public.

A special parade featuring a fleet of vintage vehicles will also take place on the first day of the fair as Carters arrives in Bath with its rides.

Carters Steam Fair will be in Royal Victoria Park on Marlborough Lane from Saturday, August 8 to Sunday, August 23. While entry to the vintage event is free to all, tickets for individual rides can be purchased either online or on the day. Ticket bundles are priced from £20 to £100.
