GUG ranked the University of Bath seventh on a national basis when marking prospects for its graduates. The institution was judged to be the best in its region in this category, and it may use newsletter printing in Bath to highlight this achievement. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell told the Bath Echo:
“The University is very proud of the excellent graduate job prospects we offer our students and we are delighted this is highlighted in the Good University Guide.”
The Vice-Chancellor praised the quality of the students attending her university. She also spoke about the opportunities that her institution delivers. She made clear that she believes that graduates from the University of Bath are prepared for careers when they finish their courses.
Two-thirds of Bath students participate in a placement initiative. This policy sees the students gain relevant experience in a wide variety of economic sectors. Partly as a result, graduates from the University of Bath often start work at a salary of at least £26,000.
The Vice-Chancellor indicated that the 50th anniversary of the University of Bath was an appropriate time to focus on its achievements. In particular, she mentioned the quality of the student experience, the quality of the teaching and the quality of the research.
