Stephen Chesworth, a community fundraiser for the nonprofit, has told the Bath Chronicle:
“It’s a big difference, £4,000 is a fantastic amount of money, it will certainly help us with these projects. That’s why we were very keen to win it.”
The Bath and District MS Society was a runner up in the contest, coming away with a prize of £2000.
An exercise class is to be resourced with the money. In addition, some of the cash is going to be used for the purpose of transporting people.
Genesis Trust aims to assist people who are trying to deal with complex problems, providing support to individuals who have disabilities or addictive behaviour. Other clients the charity caters for suffer from poverty or homelessness. The charity is responsible for a food bank, but it delivers other services too.
It may opt to use flyer printing in Bath to generate additional publicity in the community it aspires to serve.
One of the projects that the charity is focusing on is based on the teaching of life skills. Clients can learn literacy, mathematics, creative writing and IT skills. Another way in which the organisation works is via the provision of advice. If a client needs to be referred to another source of assistance, they are signposted.
