A plan to transform a hospital in Bath with a long history into a luxury hotel has been revealed.
NHS personnel are now set to finish their relocation from the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases to the Royal United Hospital by the close of 2019. The hospital was previously known as the Royal Mineral Water Hospital, affectionately called “The Min”. It was founded in 1738.
Investors from Singapore who bought the Grade two listed building in January 2018 are now drawing up the renovation plan, which will turn the property in Upper Borough Walls into an opulent hotel. Hotel groups can use brochure printing services to create attractive Booklets offering information to prospective visitors.
In 2017, the 18th century property was purchased by Versant Homes and Development based in Winchester, but Land Registry details reveal the company sold the building for £21.5 million the following year to Fragrance UK – Bath Limited.
Companies House shows that Fragrance UK's board is comprised of three directors based in Singapore with the firm Intertrust Ltd acting as secretary.
The Fragrance Group has portfolios in Australia and Singapore and owns several listed and historic hotels throughout the UK such as Manchester’s Townhouse and Blackpool’s Imperial Hotel.
An application for planning is yet to be submitted to the Council of Bath and North East Somerset for the development.
