A zone in which cold calling is forbidden has been expanded in the Bath region, protecting residents from being pushed into buying goods or services at their door that they may not want.
The exclusion zone is being referred to as the ‘No Cold Calling Zone’ by Bath Council and local police services, and is part of a plan to make communities and neighbourhoods in the Bath region safer places to live in. The No Cold Calling Zone now encompasses 12 areas around Bath and Somerset, and the latest two places to be added to the zone are Hantone Hill in Bath and Old Vicarage Green in Keynsham.
Bath and North East Somerset Council’s trading standards team is working in conjunction with the local Police’s community safety team to promote awareness of the No Cold Calling Zone. The organisations are doing this by displaying printed Signs and Posters in areas where cold calling has been banned, and leaflets are being printed and distributed in these areas to support the Signs. The Signs are highly visible and have been produced using full colour printing.
Bath residents who are concerned about cold calling have also been offered advice on the Avon and Somerset Police website. This advice encourages people to know their rights if they do purchase from a door to door sales person, as well as telling people not to feel pressured or pushed into answering their door to a cold caller.
Trading standards has produced a compilation of traders that have been approved by the council and printed Copies of this list are available in public places such as libraries.Get a Free Quote for Copies Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Signs
