The café initiative is just one improvement that has been made to Royal Victoria Park, with £500K invested in boosting the overall offer to visitors. Park users can enjoy the botanical gardens or utilise the play area. Flyers from local flyer printing could be employed to inform residents of what is available near their doorsteps.
The councillor responsible for community issues, Martin Veal, said:
“The eagerly awaited café opening to the public in Royal Victoria Park is the last of a series of improvements that the Council has invested in during the last year.”
Veale added that the café opening was evidence of the commitment to bettering the visitor experience. Further, he suggested that the investment would have a substantial impact on the recreational opportunities of local people in the future.
Andrew Furse, another councillor, said that the park had needed a lift. Furse pointed out that a facility for skating had not been upgraded for two decades.
WJ Catering has been given the chance to run the café. This organisation is a family business with roots in the region, and will be permitted to provide entertainment as well as food. This means that WJ Catering will have the right to put on events, and may take the opportunity to profit from rides for children. Get a Free Quote for Flyers
