Taking up residence in the former Grappa premises on Lansdowne Road, Culture and Cure is hoping to tap into the increasingly popular taste for tapas. It is all being done with British ingredients, however.
It is not just tapas-style dishes that will be served, though; as the name of the venture suggests, there is also an alluring array of meats and cheese – all British, of course – and a host of hops from specially selected craft beers from across the country.
There is also a house wine from Mumfords Vineyard. Located in Bannerdown, the vineyard is only four miles outside the centre of Bath.
Proprietors Colin Phillips and Karen Cairns, both with a professional background in food and drink, are hoping their approach will be something a little special.
Colin explained:
“We have been importing charcuterie and cheese from the continent for years but […] Bath is so quintessentially British that we thought it made sense to do something that celebrated British produce.”
Designed by a Mayfair-trained head chef, customers of Culture and Cure can look forward to dishes such as beer batter wrapped oysters, oat covered Jerusalem artichokes and potato mousseline, with prices starting from £4 a plate.Get a Free Quote for Posters
