Bath welcomes folk duo

The musicians Hannah James and Toby Kuhn are set to play a gig in Bath at the end of March.

James is a Radio 2 Folk Awards nominated artist, composer, singer and dancer. She toured in the one-woman show 'JigDoll' in 2015 and has worked with Maddy Prior, Sam Sweeney and Songs of Separation.

Kuhn, on the other hand, is a French classically trained cellist, musical improviser and folk enthusiast. A graduate of McGill University, his unusual style has won him many admirers and much praise from as far afield as Japan and Canada.

The pair first crossed paths at the Floating Castle Festival in Slovenia during the summer of 2018. According to Ents24, they quickly realised a special bond existed between them, both in terms of artistic empathy and a shared outlook towards creating music.

James’ work has been enhanced by the blending of vocals, accordion and clog dancing, along with Kuhn’s cello playing. The pair have been described as delivering a cosmopolitan yet distinctive performance.

To attend the Bath performance, tickets cost £14.50, inclusive of a booking fee. Flyer printing can be an effective way of publicising a forthcoming local musical event like this.

Hannah James and Toby Kuhn’s gig has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Thursday, 31st March. It will take place at the Chapel Arts Centre, Bath.
