Bath students participate in alien fundraiser

Students from the City of Bath College have dressed up as aliens to raise money for a local mental health charity called Off the Record.

This was apparently the third time the event has taken place. Around £100 was raised for the charity in question. If the walk is to be held next year, it may well be that the organisers of the occasion use extra flyer printing in Bath to help raise awareness.

College lecturer Mark Smithers has said that the decision of what to do was based on the fact that the alien walk was easy to put into practice.

Student Daniel Bason has said that he enjoyed dressing up, and local people seem to have taken pleasure in observing the fun. Masks, costumes, and face paint changed the appearance of the students considerably.

The charity which benefited from the activity helps young people with a variety of issues. It provides support and information to help individuals living in northern Somerset and Bath.

Sally Lifley, the owner of a music company in Bath, has asserted that the confidential service is particularly useful because young people don’t always want to discuss things with their parents.

Smithers has told the Bath Chronicle:

"It’s really positive, we’re growing in numbers every year, I don’t know how many people went on the walk, but looking around it must have been at least 100 people.”
