Bath Farmers Market finds new temporary home

The Farmers’ Market has been once more temporarily relocated by Bath councillors.

Since glass fell out of the roof of its historic home in Green Park Station, local councilmembers have offered Bath Farmers’ Market several alternative sites. While the venerable building that usually houses the popular market undergoes vital repairs to ensure the health and safety of visitors, Green Park station car park will now serve in its place.

This is the third in a series of temporary locations for the market, since Green Park Station’s roof became damaged. Recent weeks have seen the event held within Homebase’s car park and at Bath Soft Cheese.

Organisers of local markets can sometimes keep people informed of venue changes, using poster printing services to create notices that can be posted in public buildings.

Acting council leader for Bath and North East Somerset Council, Richard Samuel, commented:

“We have been working with all parties involved to find a temporary solution so that Bath Farmers’ Market can continue trading while work is carried out to repair the roof.”

He added that the market had been a considerable asset to Bath, in what had been an exceptionally difficult year for the city’s retail sector. The council is now keen to locate a solution that will make certain businesses based in Bath can continue trading at the popular local market.
