Bath’s Julian House supports people that are considered at-risk or vulnerable, and it presently operates a second-hand bicycle workshop within the city, where it trains people and helps them find new jobs.
Now, the charity Plans to capitalise on the recent success of the Netflix period drama Bridgerton, which features many scenes filmed around Bath. It aims to hire out a fleet of electric bikes to those with a wish to tour the popular programme’s locations.
Julian House used a grant awarded by the West of England Combined Authority of £5,300 to purchase 10 electric bikes, initially with hopes of further expansion. All profits made from the rentals will be put towards the charity organisation’s ongoing work in the area. Charity organisations and not-for-profit businesses can sometimes use flyer printing services to create leaflets advertising their new campaigns to members of the public.
Business Manager for Julian House, Martin Chappel, commented on the current “Build a Bike” workshop scheme, and the new endeavour that helps people gain new skills and become employed:
“It is tangibly helping people to improve their lives. All for a nice day out on a bike. It's win, win, win.”
The new e-bike hire scheme is expected to be operating by mid-July.
