Willmott Dixon is the firm building the Tameside Wellness Centre, which is set to cost around £15 million to complete. The developer behind the ambitious project is Network Space, in partnership with the local council, and the centre is being built on a brownfield site that used to be home to the Oldham Batteries factory.
At the heart of the finished centre will be a 25-metre swimming pool with eight lanes suitable for competitive use, but there will also be a pool for learners as well as a ten-pin bowling alley, a fitness suite and a spa section.
Outside of the facilities for leisure and health, the centre is set to contain studio spaces for a variety of uses, a sensory garden, play area and rooms for business meetings. When this sort of centre opens, places that supply brochure printing are often called on for glossy Brochures showcasing it.
Network Space’s Stephen Barnes told Place North West:
“Letting this contract is the final piece of the jigsaw in the regeneration of this major town centre site and we are delighted that works have now started.”
The hope is that the new centre will open in 2020.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
