The tribute band Transmission: The Sound of Joy Division is currently on tour and is due to play a gig in Ashton-under-Lyne in mid-March.
Joy Division, was formed towards the end of the 1970s, emerging as post-punk pioneers. They were musical innovators and became a highly influential band from the period. Only to break up in May 1980, after lead singer Ian Curtis's death, with the other members going on to form New Order.
Transmission is committed to recreating the sound and atmosphere of Joy Division's live performances. They got together in 2006, playing an initial gig at The Hard Rock Cafe Stourbridge, in support of The Clone Roses.
Founder members of the band, Paul (lead vocals, guitar) and Chris (drums). have more recently been joined by Lyn (keyboards) in 2015 and Rob (bass guitar, vocals) in 2018. They deliver a string of classic songs that include; 'Transmission' 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' and 'She's Lost Control'.
18 years after their formation, they are still touring Europewide as the UK's leading Joy Division Tribute Band.
Tickets cost £12 in advance and £14 at the door. Poster printing can be effective when it comes to the promotion of a concert or musical event.
